A youngster from Austin, Texas cashed in OpenAI's ChatGPT, making thousands of dollars by teaching it to people from across the world.
Priced at $20, Lance Junck's course 'ChatGPT Masterclass: A Complete ChatGPT Guide for Beginners', which includes 50 lectures, is available on the online education platform Udemy. He has so far made $34,913 by teaching the course, according to Business Insider.
He began the course in December, and in three months as many as 15,000 students, including working professionals and college students, have enrolled for it. The majority of his students are from the US, but there are also students from India, Canada, Japan, Russia and Venezuela. He teaches them how to write the ChatGPT prompts and moves on to more specific and complicated applications of the tool eventually.
His expertise in SEO and marketing has helped him to reach his course to a large number of people, he revealed.
According to Business Insider, Junck was impressed by the possibilities offered by ChatGPT when he first began using it in November and wanted more people to benefit from it. "I think people are kind of afraid of ChatGPT, so I tried to make it warm and exciting and approachable," he was quoted as saying.
He is self-taught and spends a considerable amount of time with ChatGPT to better understand prompts and has been reading upon everything about it on the internet.
He also plans to include lectures on how to use other AI tools like Microsoft's Bing and Google's Bard when they are officially made available to the public.
