Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday said the Ministry of Railways has revised tariffs of standard meals on static units in railway stations. Following the decision, IRCTC's shares gained four per cent at Rs 899.
Following is the new price list
Veg breakfast Rs 35
Non-veg breakfast Rs 45
Standard veg meal Rs 70
Standard meal (egg curry) Rs 80
Standard meal (chicken curry) Rs 120
Veg Biryani (350 gm) Rs 70
Egg Biryani (350 gm) Rs 80
Chicken Biryani (350 gm) Rs 100
Snack meal (350 gm) Rs 50
In Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains breakfast will cost Rs 140 in AC first and and Rs 105 in AC second and AC third. The lunch and dinner in these trains will cost ₹245 in AC first and ₹185 in AC second and AC third.
In Duronto trains, sleeper class passengers will have to pay Rs 65 for breakfast and Rs 120 for lunch/dinner .
According to reports, the Railway Ministry has asked the IRCTC and zonal railways to ensure that the price hike resulted in visible improvement in quality and hygiene of food.
