Toyota has launched the much-awaited Yaris mid-size sedan in India at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh.

Bookings have opened at Toyota dealerships at the amount of Rs 50,000, and deliveries will be done from May.

The Yaris was unveiled at the Auto expo 2018, and is available in four different variants―J, G, V and VX―with CVT and manual transmission options. It is already available in international markets as Yaris Ativ and Vios.

Here is the variant-wise price list:

The Yaris comes with a single 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 107hp and 140Nm of peak torque, and is mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or the optional 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

The Yaris is unlike any of the previous cars launched by Toyota, although it might be more expensive than other mid-size sedans in the market. It has a unique look when it comes to design. The Yaris is wider and spacious, and includes features such as roof-mounted rear air-condition vents with ambient illumination, gesture control for the infotainment system, a tyre pressure-monitoring system, acoustic and vibration control glass, 60:40 rear seat split, adjustable three-neck restraints for the rear seat, a powered driver’s seat and front parking sensors.

Other highlights of the Yaris includes projector headlamps with LED line guide, LED DRLs, Shark-fin antenna, piano black interior, rear power outlets, rear sunshade and more.

Toyota has also decided to incorporate the Yaris with a segment-leading safety kit. The Yaris will be equipped with an all-wheel disc brakes, front parking sensors, ABS, EBD and ESP, seven airbags (including a driver knee airbag), Hill-start Assist and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). Toyota Yaris with similar specs was awarded five stars in ASEAN NCAP crash tests.
