Kejriwal visits temple in Goa refuses to speak about politics

Panaji, May 14 (PTI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday visited a temple in North Goa, where he refused to respond to questions about politics.
Kejriwal, who arrived in the coastal state on Wednesday for a three-day visit, went to the Shree Swami Samarth Parivar temple in Siolim village. He was accompanied by Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena, the party’s Goa president Valmiki Naik and others.
“Sorry! I don’t want to talk about politics in the temple,” said Kejriwal when the media asked him about the 2027 Goa assembly elections.
Kejriwal said he prayed for the prosperity and well-being of Goans.
“I felt good coming here. I prayed for the well-being and prosperity of Goans,” the former Delhi chief minister told reporters.
The AAP has said that its convenor’s visit reflects the party’s growing focus on Goa and its commitment to expand the organisation at the grassroots level in the BJP-ruled state, where polls are due in the first half of next year.
