Kolkata, May 4 (PTI) West Bengal Governor R N Ravi on Monday praised the people's resolve towards building a developed state as the BJP was heading towards a landslide victory for the first time in the state.
He congratulated the people of the state for participating in the "festival of democracy" with "unprecedented enthusiasm".
The governor, in a social media post, said he paid respect to the people of Bengal for their "resounding resolve and commitment" to realise the vision of "Sonar Bengal and Viksit Bharat 2047".
"My dear brothers and sisters of beloved Bengal, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you for celebrating this festival of democracy with unprecedented enthusiasm. I pay my humble respects to your unwavering resolve and commitment to building 'Sonar Bangla' and 'Viksit Bharat 2047'. May the blessings of Mother Kali forever reside upon us all," he said.
The BJP won 111 seats in the 294-member West Bengal assembly and was leading in 95 constituencies, while the TMC bagged 44 and was ahead in 37.
