New Delhi, Apr 22 (PTI) An awareness programme under the 'Drug Free Delhi Campaign' was organised by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of the Crime Branch at a government school in east Delhi, with around 250 students participating, officials said on Wednesday.
The event was held on Tuesday at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Trilokpuri, where students were sensitised about the ill effects of drug abuse and its impact on health, families and society, police said in a statement.
The session focused on preventive awareness, early identification of substance abuse and the importance of making responsible life choices. A presentation was made to explain various aspects of drug abuse in a structured and visual manner, the statement added.
Posters, paintings, signage and standees carrying anti-drug messages were also displayed across the school premises to reinforce awareness, police said.
The programme included cultural performances by students, and the initiative received a positive response from students and school staff, according to the statement.
The event is part of the ongoing efforts to spread awareness at the grassroots level against drug abuse, it further noted.
