Puducherry, Nov 3 (PTI) Puducherry logged one more death on
Tuesday due to COVID-19, pushing the toll to 596 while 149 new
cases were registered, raising the tally to 35,325.
The fresh cases were identified at the end of examination
of 4,004 samples today.
Director of Health and Family Welfare S Mohan Kumar said
the fatality and recovery rates were 1.69 percent and 91.39
percent respectively.
He said 457 patients were discharged during the last 24
hours.
Of the 3.17 lakh samples tested so far, 2.79 lakh were
found to be negative and the result of examination of
remaining samples was awaited.
The Director said of the total 35,325 coronavirus cases
2,445 were active, 32,284 patients recovered and were
discharged.
Of the 149 fresh cases reported today, Puducherry region
accounted for 92 cases followed by Mahe 37, Karaikal 13 and
Yanam seven.
The person who died of the viral infection was 76 year
old and had severe covid pneumonia. PTI COR
