Mumbai, Apr 22 (PTI) Allana Group, along with its subsidiary Indian Poultry Alliance (IPA) and global packaged seafood player Captain Fresh, announced the formation of Indian Retail Alliance Pvt Ltd (IRAPL), a joint venture aimed at building an organised fresh protein retail ecosystem.
In the JV, IRAPL, Allana Group will hold 51 per cent while Captain Fresh will own the remaining 49 per cent, the company said in a statement.
The JV aims to build a network of around 4,000 retail stores across India over the next four years.
In the JV, Captain Fresh will bring its seafood supply chain capabilities, along with the omni-channel technology stack, under its retail brand ChopServe, while Allana Group will bring in its expertise and best-in-class infrastructure across chicken, RTC, and protein processing.
IRAPL aims to offer a comprehensive range of fresh protein products, including seafood, chicken and mutton, through a pan-India distribution network.
It will cater to consumers through multiple channels, including standalone retail outlets, shop-in-shop formats, and HoReCa (hotel, restaurant and catering) partnerships.
"The joint venture is positioned to become a foundational platform for the next phase of growth in India's fresh protein retail sector. The collaboration combines institutional strength with technology and execution capabilities to create a scalable ecosystem for local entrepreneurs," Allana Group promoter Asim Allana added.
