Ambrane plans to scale up solid state battery-based power banks production to 20 lakh annually

New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) Electronics gadget maker Ambrane is planning to scale up production capacity of solid state battery-based power banks to 20 lakh units in the next 2-3 years, a top company official said.
The company claims to become the first entity to introduce solid state batteries for power banks in India -- a technology used for making electric vehicle batteries.
"Ambrane currently produces around 2.5 million units of powerbank per annum. Over the next 1-2 years, Ambrane aims to manufacture 1 million SSB (solid state battery) power banks and scale up to 2 million in the next 2-3 years which will be 80 per cent of the total production capacity," Ambrane Managing Director Ashok Rajpal told PTI.
Engineered for Indian environmental conditions, where high temperatures and humidity can impact device performance, the semi-solid battery technology addresses these challenges through an advanced heat-resistance mechanism, he said.
"Proven in the electric mobility (EV) sector for its safety, non-flammability, and efficiency, this next-generation battery technology is now making its way into consumer electronics," Rajpal said.
