MY NEW DAWN II DEBUTS AT HEARTWORKS 2026

24 January 2026 | IF.BE, Ballard Estate, Mumbai The recently-concluded HeartWorks 2026 charity art exhibition saw the public unveiling of New Dawn II—the second edition of the interactive art experience by Mumbai-based duo Howareyoufeeling.studio (Doyel Joshi and Neil Ghose Balser), created in collaboration with Grammy-nominated musician Anoushka Shankar. The live installation, created with artworks by 3500+ children from various NGOs across Mumbai, drew sustained awe by the visitors on both days and was widely appreciated by all for its immersive, communal energy—reinforcing HeartWorks’ core philosophy of shared giving and collective hope.

These spontaneous drawings interpreting “a new dawn”, came together as a collective expression of universality—a living mural of imagination, emotion, and renewal. Each drawing becomes part of a larger body of work that the artists are presenting globally, contributing to a shared vision of transformation and the hope we all carry.

“Our contribution to HeartWorks with the project of New Dawn II is inspired by artists and thinkers who shaped how we understand participation—especially Joseph Beuys and Yoko Ono. Beuys’ belief that ‘everyone is an artist’ and Ono’s poetic invitations for people to complete the work through their own actions deeply resonate with us. Their ideas have always felt close to our practice and to the way we see creativity as a collective force.

New Dawn carries that same spirit. It invites people—children and adults, communities across the city—to express what a beginning feels like. A simple drawing becomes a personal truth. Together, these drawings become a shared landscape of hope. For us, that is powerful: the idea that art emerges not from the studio alone, but from the many hands and hearts that choose to take part.

Working with My Open Muse, HeartWorks, and Anoushka Shankar allows us to bring this belief into a living, breathing form. In gathering these drawings, we honour the idea that creativity belongs to everyone—each child or participant that draws—and that when people imagine a new dawn together, they also imagine a new future together.”

Founded by Falguni Sheth-Kapadia and Rachana Darda, HeartWorks 2026 was conceived as a circle of giving—where artists contribute a part of their practice, patrons support causes through acquisition, and NGOs amplify long-term impact. The Mumbai edition, co-created with Shilpa Bhagat, formally opened by Genelia Deshmukh (née D’Souza), featured artworks spanning Masters, Contemporary Art and Photography. It marks the beginning of what is envisioned as a sustained philanthropic platform rooted in creative expression, with more HeartWorks editions set to travel soon to other metros across India and abroad.

The inaugural edition saw strong engagement from patrons, artists and supporters across the city seeing sales of 40+ artworks in a short span of two days, with proceeds supporting 11 women-led NGOs working across children’s welfare, senior care, women’s empowerment, animal protection, rural development and environmental conservation.

For patrons who could not attend in person—and for those who wish to continue supporting the initiative—the remaining artworks from HeartWorks 2026 will continue to be available for sale until the end of the month via the My Open Muse website.

A Vision Realised Through Collaboration

Built on Falguni Sheth-Kapadia’s founding idea and shaped through the steady partnership of Rachana Darda and Shilpa Bhagat, HeartWorks evolved from a personal milestone into a collective initiative grounded in commitment, care and purpose.

“HeartWorks was born from a dream attached to a personal milestone—for my 50th birthday, I wanted to find a powerful way of giving back. Seeing this first edition come alive has shown me how generous the world can be when we create with purpose. I truly believe that when we give with an open heart, we create ripples of change that build a stronger, more compassionate world.”
– Falguni Sheth-Kapadia, Founder, HeartWorks

“When Falguni first shared the idea of HeartWorks with me, it felt like all my years of artistic and community work were leading to this moment. HeartWorks is not just a fundraiser; it’s an offering—an invitation to be part of something larger than ourselves. I’m excited to see this grow into a tradition of joyful giving through art.”
– Rachana Darda, Co-founder, HeartWorks

“With a background in leadership and community upliftment, I’m proud to collaborate on this collective effort—one rooted in empathy and real, measurable change for women-led NGOs.”
– Shilpa Bhagat, Co-creator, HeartWorks 2026, Mumbai Edition
