Its full seating capacity stands at 25,000 but can be on occasion expanded to accommodate 30,000 spectators

The grass pitch stadium was curated by Australia’s Matthew Sandery

The stadium is lit by a system of 350 floodlights and is also known as the Ring of Fire. The lighting system minimizes shadow of objects on the ground

A total of 112 T20 matches were held at the grounds. Out of them 52 were won batting first and 59 were won bowling first. The stadium is said to favor the team batting second and so opting to field first after winning the toss at the grounds is a common strategy

The stadium has hosted a variety of events including various test matches, ODI matches, PSL, 3 Asia Cups, the ICC women’s T20 world cup and the ICC champions trophy

The stadium also hosted the IPL during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 and in 2014 during the general elections

India and Pakistan's cricket teams are set for a face-off in the second Group A match of the 3rd Asia Cup hosted at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday
