JSW MG Motor India launched the updated version of the Gloster named Majestor, which it claims is the first D+ segment SUV in India, with a starting price of ₹40.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for 4x2 Automatic, and the 4x4 automatic has been priced at ₹44.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Majestor will compete with segment leader Toyota Fortuner, along with Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan R-line, Jeep Meridian and Isuzu MUX.
The Majestor continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 hp and 479 Nm of torque with an 8-speed Torque Convertor transmission
The car is available in 6 and 7-seater configurations with the 4x4 option offering 10 off-road modes, crawl control, and a Triple Differential Lock for uneven terrains
The Majestor has 219 mm of ground clearance and 810 mm of water wading capacity (for comparison, Fortuner has 225 mm ground clearance and 700mm water-wading capacity)
The car is equipped with a giant black slatted grill with “Dragon eye LED DRLs”, and a triple project headlamp in the front, and the rear consists of a single piece connected LED Taillights and diffuser with an opening for exhaust pipes
The interior features black leather upholstery, two 12.3-inch screens for the Infotainment unit and Instrument cluster, respectively and is fitted with a 12 Speaker JBL sound system, Panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient light, two wireless charging pads, cabin air filter, powered, ventilated and massaging front seats
MG has provided 6 airbags, three drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), Level 2 Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) alert and clearance system, hill descent control, and hill-hold assist
