Trump declares 'no time limits' on US-Iran war amid escalating tensions

As the Middle East faces escalating tensions fueled by coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iran, the question remains: how long can this cycle of conflict persist before reaching a breaking point? It seems US President Donald Trump is not ready to end it soon.

"I have no time limits," said Trump when asked about how long the US war with Iran could continue.

"I have no time limits on anything. I want to get it done," he said. His comments came after he publicly said that the Iran war could last for at least four to five weeks. However, it remains to be seen how the timelines change with the president facing increasing political pressure domestically against the war.

"They can't have a nuclear weapon. That's number one, two, and three. Number four, no ballistic missiles."

Trump also pointed out that "somebody rational and sane should be appointed to lead Iran."

Amid the US-Israeli strikes on Iran, Trump said Tehran was reaching out to the United States about making a deal. It had come a "little bit late", said Trump, adding that America wants to "fight more than they do."

“They [Iran] are calling; they are saying, ‘How do we make a deal?’ I said, ‘You are being a little bit late.’ Now we want to fight more than they do," Trump said.

He also added that the US is working closely with Israeli forces and is destroying Iran's missiles and drone capability "every single hour".

Meanwhile, Trump has encouraged Iranian Kurdish forces in Iraq to join the fight against Iran. On the possibility of the Iranian Kurdish forces entering Iran, Trump told Reuters on Thursday: "I think it's wonderful that they want to do that, I'd be all for it."
