Was Tyler Robinson a student of Utah Valley University where Charlie Kirk was killed?

Robinson, who lived three hours away in Washington County, briefly attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021

Twenty-two-year-old Tyler Robinson, who remains in custody for the murder of prominent right-wing Charlie Kirk, was not a student of the Utah Valley University, where he carried out the shooting.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that the suspect was not a student of Utah Valley University.

The governor said Robinson was living with his family in Washington County, in southwest Utah for a long time. This is about three hours away from Utah Valley University. 

According to media reports, he was a student of Utah State University. He was offered an academic scholarship to attend the Logan, Utah-based university.

Utah State University confirmed that the suspect had attended the school there. "Utah State University confirms that Tyler Robinson, the suspect arrested in the killing of Charlie Kirk, briefly attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021," a statement from the university read.

The suspect is currently being at Utah County jail.

Cox further said the family of the suspect did the right thing by turning him in.

Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday night, nearly 33 hours after the murder of Kirk.
