Donald Trump on Friday denied knowing anything about FBI raid at the home of his former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
The US president, while speaking at the White House Historical Association Museum, said he came to know about the FBI raid on Bolton after it appeared in the news and that he would be briefed about it later in the day.
Claiming that Bolton is "very bad at what he does", the president said he is a quiet person except when he is on television. "He can say something bad about Trump. He'll always do that. But he doesn't talk, he's very quiet," Trump told reporters, as he called Bolton a "low life".
Around 7 am on Friday, FBI agents conducted a search at Bolton's home in connection with a probe into alleged use of classified documents in his 2020 book 'The Room Where It Happened'.
In the memoir, Bolton alleged that Trump in 2019 pleaded with Chinese President Xi Jinping to ensure he wins in the 2020 US presidential elections. He also told Xi that he wanted to amend the US constitution so that he can run for president for a third term.
Bolton also alleged that Trump offered to "take care of things" after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sought help regarding an investigation into a Turkish company flouting Iran sanctions.
Bolton also claimed that Trump's was ill-informed about foreign policy and ignorant about geopolitical facts. Apparently, Trump did not know that the UK was a nuclear power and once even asked whether Finland was part of Russia.
