Gambian defender Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh is being tracked by Manchester United, a report said. The 19-year-old Tromsø centre-back is being monitored by the club's Chief Executive Officer, Omar Berrada, and the Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, reports said.
Sedi Kinteh is being seen as an investment for the next decade or so, and the two club officials are reportedly convinced that he has the technical capabilities and physicality to dominate the English top tier. According to reports, Kinteh could be Harry Maguire's successor for the seasons to come; however, it remains to be seen if United can come up with a convincing offer for the teenager when the summer transfer window opens.
Tromsø discovered him at the Mawade Wade Academy and signed him for a five-million-pound deal. He is confident in the air and tidy in build-up play but remains a little reckless, as his tally of eight yellows and one red so far this season shows. Kinteh is among the fastest footballers in Norway, managing to clock 37 km/h this season, CaughtOffside said in a report. He could match Tottenham's Micky van de Ven in terms of pace and recovery speed, the report said, adding that his market value is estimated to be around €6 million.
