It is with good reason that Roger Federer is hailed as the Greatest of All Time in tennis. The Swiss tennis star gave the crowd in the Arthur Ashe stadium a sneak peek into his greatness when he cruised past Nick Kyrgios 6-4 6-1 7-5 into the fourth round of the US Open.
In response to a cross-court drop shot from Kyrgios, Federer hit the ball inches off the ground and curled it around the net post to produce a brilliant shot that left the Australian flabbergasted.
Not only did Federer receive a standing ovation from the spectators for the shot, it also elicited a wide-eyed and dramatic reaction from Kyrgios.
Kyrgios was heard calling it the greatest shot in tennis. “It was almost unreal. It was unbelievable.”

Kyrgios later took to Twitter to praise Roger Federer on his win and called the shot “f**ken off the charts good”.
“Without sounding like a fanboy, congrats to @rogerfederer today. Too good on the day, GOAT. Good luck extending that lead, go get 21. Everyone else, thanks for the support during @usopen sorry I couldn’t get it done today. #MuchLove”, Kyrgios tweeted.
