Zerodha, Angel One, and Groww are all down due to the Cloudflare outage

Cloudflare services are down

Cloudflare experienced a global outage affecting popular websites like Canva and trading platforms such as Zerodha, Angel One, and Groww. The issue has now been resolved with the outage reportedly lasting for a total of 24 minutes, as per Cloudflare’s Service Issues page.

According to reports, Cloudflare confirmed on Friday that it is probing the problem with its Dashboard and related Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Some reports also named Zoom, Perplexity, Claude, Fortnite, Facebook and LinkedIn among the service websites that were affected by the outage.

As per the Cloudflare System Status page data, the maintenance activity began at 09:00 UTC and is still going on, reports said. Downdetector, the platform that tracks cyber outages, was among the websites reportedly hit by the issue. However, it later confirmed that it got 2,100 reports as of Friday afternoon,

As a consequence of the outage, trading was shortly interrupted during market hours, leading to delays, Money Control said in a report.  However, services gradually began to stabilise as Cloudflare initiated fixes, but platforms are still monitoring  residual issues.

What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is a  global cloud services provider that primarily acts as a reverse proxy between a website's visitor and its hosting server. In simpler terms, it is an internet infrastructure company that helps websites load faster and protects them from cyberattacks. It distributes incoming traffic across multiple origin servers, preventing any single server from becoming overwhelmed  and reduces the initial time required for a visitor's browser to locate the website.
