The 30th season of Global Village has arrived and people across the United Arab Emirates and abroad are hoping to have a good time with their loved ones at the family destination. This year's theme is 'A More Wonderful World' and is sure to lend the visitors an experience of their lifetime.
Global Village is open from 4 pm to 12 am, while it will close only at 1 am on weekends. On Tuesdays, only families can visit.
Entry tickets to the Global Village are priced around Dh 25 per head from Sunday to Thursday and Dh 30 on Friday, Saturday and holidays. Tickets can be bought from the counters or online at www.globalvillage.ae.
People with Dh 30 ticket can enter on week days too. This means, a family of four just need to spend up to Dh 120 for entry fee. Tickets are free for those aged under three and over 65.
With this entry fee, you can enjoy parades, cultural acts and live concerts. More than 40 acts including street performances, drummers and acrobatic shows are also available.
When you enter the gates, you can pose for selfies in front of the replicas of the Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum and the Sydney Opera House. Of course, these are free of cost.
A family of four can have meals at around Dh 70-150, depending on their choice of diet, reports Khaleej Times. From more than 200 food stalls and eateries in the Asian Boulevard on Fiesta Street, you can choose a variety of food items, including biriyani, kebabs, shawarma and more. For dessert, you can grab ice creams and other delicacies from the stalls at around Dh 40.
When your appetite is full, you can head to the Carnival zone, where the rides range from Dh 20 to 50 per head. These include the Ferris wheel, rollercoasters and bumper cars. There are also obstacle courses and neon-lit play areas for children. A family combo card or similar packages can bring your cost at Dh 50 to 100.
You can also shop items from pavilions representing various countries. These include Indian spices, African handicraft and Turkish lamps as well as perfumes, clothes and home decor. These souvenirs can cost from around Dh 5 to 30.
