Ruling out that a 20-year-old Ukrainian model was kidnapped and assaulted before being abandoned on a UAE street, the Dubai Police said that the victim was hospitalised following a scary fall.
The Dubai Police condemned the many news reports that claimed that the young Ukrainian woman was abducted and kept captive for 10 days before being released. The reports went on to add that she was assaulted when found on a Dubai street.
In a statement, the police department said that no atrocity was committed to the young lady and she was a victim of her own careless actions. On March 12, Wednesday, she entered a construction site where civilians were restricted. After trespassing, she ventured to scale some height and fell, Khaleej Times quoted the police department's release as stating. She suffered serious injuries since the fall was from a considerable height.
However, eyewitnesses immediately alerted emergency services who arrived at the scene to take her to a hospital."Witnesses at the scene immediately alerted emergency services, and the individual was promptly rushed to the hospital, where she remains under medical care as she continues to recover," the police release reportedly said.
The Ukrainian national's family was informed about the development and all needed assistance is being provided to them, the news report added. The details including the identity of the youngster are kept under wraps as the investigation is still going on. The cops also reminded the public that they should respect the privacy of the victim at this difficult time and refrain from sharing fake news that revealed her identity.
The report came amidst a report by Numbeo’s 2025 Safety Index declaring UAE as the second safest with an impressive Safety Index score of 84.5. Andorra in Europe was the only country ahead of it on the list.
