Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described the AI Impact Summit 2026, recently hosted in Delhi, as a turning point for the world, highlighting India’s remarkable capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence.

During his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Modi said that the AI Impact Summit also provided him with the opportunity to meet global leaders and CEOs of top technology companies.

"This summit is a turning point in how the world will use the power of AI in the future," Modi said as he emphasised two innovations that particularly impressed global leaders: the use of AI in livestock management and the preservation of cultural heritage.

“The first innovation was at the Amul booth. It was explained how AI is helping in treating animals and how, with the help of a 24/7 AI assistant, farmers are keeping track of their dairy operations and livestock,” he said.

“The second innovation focused on preserving India's cultural heritage. Leaders from across the world were surprised to see how, with the help of AI, our ancient scriptures, traditional wisdom, and manuscripts are being preserved and adapted for today's generation," the prime minister added.

Referring to the Sushruta Samhita display at the summit, Modi explained how technology was used to enhance and translate the ancient texts. "The first step involved enhancing the image quality of manuscripts using technology, making them readable. The second step converted the image-based text into a machine-readable format," he said.

"Next, an AI avatar was created, and the text was translated into Indian and foreign languages," he alabourated, adding that several world leaders have showed great interest in learning about India's ancient knowledge through this modern avatar.
