SIR draft voter list for MP, Chhattisgarh and Kerala out: Was your name deleted? How to submit complaint to ECI

After the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) concluded in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Kerala, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday released draft electoral rolls. As expected, lakhs of names were removed from each of the state, raising concerns among many voters.

In Madhya Pradesh, 42 lakh names were removed while in Chhattisgarh, 27 lakh were deleted. In Kerala, 22 lakh names were omitted.

Around 5.31 crore voters submitted their enumeration forms in Madhya Pradesh. Around 8.46 lakh were deceased voters while 31.5 lakh had moved out or were untraceable. Another 2.77 lakh voters had multiple registrations.

In Chhattisgarh, 1.84 lakh voters submitted enumeration forms. Deceased voters amounted to 6.4 lakh while 19.1 lakh had moved out or were not traceable. Around 1.8 lakh registered at multiple locations.

Kerala saw submission of 2.54 lakh enumeration forms. Around 6.5 lakh voters were deceased while 14.61 lakh moved out of were untraceable. More than 1.36 lakh voters had enrolled at multiple locations.

How to check your name in the list and to raise complaint to ECI?

Voters can access the draft electoral roll from ECINET mobile app and voters.eci.gov.in website.

Those who have their names removed from the draft electoral roll can submit a Form 6 and an affidavit to re-enroll. Citizens who are abroad should submit Form 6A.

Complaints will be considered till January 22. The forms can be downloaded form the ECI website or accessed from Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

During the hearing, voters with complaints can appeal to the District Collector within 15 days. They can also approach the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days.
