The draft electoral roll of Tamil Nadu after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has been released on Saturday. As per the new list, 97,37,832 voters have been deleted from the list. Earlier, there were 6.41 crore voters in the state, while now there are only 5.43 crore.
As per the list, the highest number of deletions is from the capital city of Chennai. A total of 14,25,018 voters have been deleted from the list in the city. Authorities have instructed people whose names are not in the draft voters' list can now apply by filling out Form 6.
Chengalpattu came second with 7.01 lakh, while Thiruvallur had 6.19 lakh voters. Coimbatore too had a high number of voters off list at 6.50 lakhs, while Tiruppur had 5.63 lakh.
1,03,812 votes were removed from Chief Minister Stalin's Kolathur constituency and 26,375 from Edappadi, the constituency of the Leader of the Opposition, EPS. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency saw the deletion of 89,421 voters.
As per the new list, the male voters amounted to 2,66,63,233 while there were 2,77,06,333 female voters. Transgender people amounted to 7,191, while 4,19,355 people has disabilities.
While 26.94 lakh names were deleted due to deaths, 66.44 lakh voters were removed after being found to have permanently shifted or migrated. Over 66,44,881 voters could not be traced at their registered addresses despite three rounds of door-to-door checks.

One can check whether their names are in the list via three ways.
Voters should first click on the link https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/.
There are 3 ways: Search By EPIC, Search by details, and Search By Mobile.
Search By EPIC
In this, the voters' Voter Identification Card Number (EPIC) must be entered.
You will need to enter the language and state.
You can check if your name is in the draft voter list by entering the captcha.
Search by Details
Enter the language and state.
Next, the voter's name and the relative's name (father's or mother's name) must be entered as they appear on the voter ID card.
Enter the date of birth, gender, district, and constituency.
Enter the captcha and check if your name is in the draft voter list.
Search By Mobile
The third way is to enter your mobile number and check if your name is on the voter list.
However, it is important that the mobile number is uploaded to the Election Commission's data for this.
