The Election Commission on Tuesday released the list of voters deleted from the draft electoral rolls in West Bengal under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The list, which features voters whose names were included in the electoral rolls of the state in 2025 but were deleted from the draft rolls of 2026, is now available on the commission's portal  ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in.

Notably, the list of deleted voters was published barely hours before the publication of the draft electoral rolls of West Bengal, where assembly elections are due early next year.

According to the poll body, around 58 lakhs names were deleted on grounds of either remaining absent from their registered addresses, permanently shifted, dead or marked as 'duplicate' voters in more than one constituency.

"Aggrieved persons can submit their claims in Form 6 along with the Declaration Form and supporting documents after publication of draft roll during the period fixed for receiving claims and objections i.e. 16/12/2025 till 15/01/2026," the commission website stated.

Meanwhile, the booth-level officers (BLOs) across the state received access to the draft electoral rolls on Monday, a day before their publication.

"The draft list will go live on Tuesday at noon for public access both online and offline. The BLOs have already received the draft list," an official told PTI news agency.

He said the Commission will continue verification of voter data even after the publication of the draft voter list under the SIR process, adding that no name will be removed solely on the basis of suspicion.
