Countering the claims of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who accused the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP to make them win in the 2024 Haryana assembly polls, the BJP lauched a scathing attack on the Congress MP, claiming that he is trying to divert attention to Haryana as there is nothing left for him in Bihar.

The Congress leader had shown a picture of a woman who appears on the voter list 22 times in 10 booths in the Rai assembly constituency of Haryana,  and claimed that the picture of the woman used for multiple entries is from Brazil to allege that there was largescale election fraud.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said Rahul Gandhi goes abroad during elections and during Parlaiment sessions, the Congress leader "secretly visits places like Cambodia and Thailand."

"Now, during the Bihar elections, he went to Colombia. So, when he goes abroad, he brings back certain ideas from there, gives them to his team, and they prepare these baseless narratives, wasting everyone’s time," the Union minister was quoted as saying.

Rijiju dismissed Gandhi's allegation of mass vote theft in the Haryana as "false and baseless" and accused the Congress leader of raising questions on the Election Commission to hide his failures and defame the country's democracy. He accused Gandhi of "playing games" in collusion with "anti-India" forces to defame the country.

Rijiju alleged that many leaders in Bihar Conrgess do not want him to campaign in Bihar, as "his presence would ruin whatever little chances they have."

The Union minister said after the elections are over, if there is any discrepancy, anyone can file a petition or appeal with the Election Commission. "If you feel that justice was not served, you can go to court."

"Rahul Gandhi is targeting not just the BJP, but our country's system and the credibility of its institutions. You'll see him target the army. Then, if the court's decision isn't fair, he'll attack the Supreme Court and the judiciary. Questioning the Election Commission, our democratic system, and the credibility of the institutions means you're targeting the country, our system," Rijiju said.
