Mumbai railway mega block: List of local trains, stations and routes to be affected

The Central Railway has announced extensive megablocks from September 26 to October 10 for crucial maintenance work at Byculla, Sion, and Karjat stations. Both local and long-distance train services will be impacted with cancellations, delays, and diversions.

The Central Railway (CR) announced a mega block in Mumbai starting today to carry out scheduled maintenance work. Train services in Mumbai will be affected starting from September 26th and will continue till October 10.

The CR said that there will be special traffic and power blocks during the period.

The work will affect both local and long-distance train schedules.

The maintenance work includes the launch of a Foot Over Bridge girders at Byculla and Sion stations, along with Pre Non-Interlocking work at Karjat station for yard remodelling.

The statement was issued by Dr Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway.

The railway authority announced night traffic and power blocks in addition to the multiple-day blocks.

Here are all the blocks that will impact trains between September 27 to 30:

On September 27 to 30, a five-hour traffic block will be placed between 11:20 am to 4:20 pm on the Panvel line near Karjat.

Block 1: Byculla station

Date : 00.30 am to 04.30 am on 28th September.

UP & DOWN Slow and Fast Lines between Byculla and Parel will be affected

Block 2: Sion Station

Date: 01.10 am to 04.10 am on 28th September.

UP & DOWN Slow and Fast Lines between Dadar and Kurla will be affected

Regulation/Short–Termination of Mail Trains

Train no 11020 (Bhubaneshwar - CSMT Konark Express) will be regulated at Kurla from 03:28 to 04:15 am and at Dadar.

Train No 12810 Howrah-CSMT Express will be regulated at Thane from 03:43 to 04:00 am and end at Dadar.

Suburban trains

  • Dadar – Kurla local leaving Dadar at 10.18 pm will be cancelled.
  • Kalyan – CSMT local leaving Kalyan at 11.15 pm will be cancelled.
  • CSMT- Thane local leaving CSMT at 00.24 am will be cancelled.
  • Thane – CSMT local leaving Thane at 04.04 am will be cancelled.
  • Kasara – CSMT local leaving Kasara at 10 pm will end at Thane at 11.49 pm.
  • CSMT – Kasara Local leaving CSMT at 04.19 am will be start from Thane at 05.14 am.

Here is a list of local trains that will be impacted till September 30:

Between Karjat and Khopoli, no local train services will run during the block.

1. On September 27th (Saturday), 28th (Sunday), and 29th (Monday):

Karjat-Khopoli locals

  • Departing Karjat at 12:00, 1:15, and 3:39 will be cancelled.
  • Departing Khopoli at 11:20, 12:40, and 2:55 will be cancelled.

The CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 12:20 will end at Karjat.

The Khopoli-CSMT local scheduled to depart Khopoli at 1:48 will originate from Karjat.

2. On September 28th (Sunday):

  • The Gwalior-Daund Express (Train No 22194) will be diverted via Kalyan-Karjat and stop at Kalyan for passengers from Panvel.

3. On September 30th (Tuesday):

Several express trains will be delayed.

  • The Coimbatore-LTT Express (Train no 11014, JCO 29.09.2025) will depart Coimbatore at 12:50 (instead of 08:50).
  • The Chennai-LTT Express (Train no 12164, JCO 29.09.2025) will depart Chennai at 9:25 (instead of 6:25).
  • The Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express (Train no 12263, JCO 30.09.2025) will depart Pune at 3:10 (instead of 11:10).

Further details on blocks and train running from October 1st to October 10th will be announced later.

The Central Railways requested passengers to cooperate as the maintenance is crucial for infrastructure and safety.
