Supporting four languages—Tamil, English, Kannada, and Telugu—the app has a QR-based ticketing system that allows people to purchase one ticket and use it across different modes of travel.

Officials have been quoted as saying that this will make travel more convenient for people in Chennai as it would reduce waiting time for availing tickets, giving people more flexibility and helping the save time. Passengers can pay for their tickets through UPI platforms or via card payments.

Available on both iOS and Android platforms, the app, according to media reports, will also offer real-time updates on bus and train movements, making it easy for people to plan their commute.

The aim of the Chennai One app is to create an integrated, sustainable, safe, and flexible transportation ecosystem, which will ensure the smooth movement of commuters across the city.
