The BJP on Sunday launched a fresh attack on the opposition, saying abuses were hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother during RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’.

The allegations came days after an AI-generated video of Heeraben Modi shared by the Congress on X sparked a political storm. The Patna High Court later ordered the grand old party to remove the media from all social platforms.

On Sunday, the BJP targeted Tejashwi, alleging that the RJD workers hurled abuses at Modi’s mother during his rally.

"Tejashwi Yadav has once again insulted Modi ji's late mother. He has once again torn apart the culture of Bihar. In the rally, the RJD workers were hurling as many abuses as they could, and Tejashwi was encouraging them,” Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary wrote on X. He also shared a purported video of the incident.

“The mothers and sisters of Bihar will surely hold him accountable for this thuggish mentality and abusive behaviour,”  Choudhary said.

Another Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, also echoed similar views. "Once again, abuses were hurled at the late mother of PM Modi Ji during Tejashwi Yadav's yatra... and the RJD leader was boosting the morale of his workers... It's shocking... This shows their mindset,” he said in a post on X.

Last month, a huge row erupted after a man was seen using expletives against Modi’s mother from a stage set for Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Darbhanga district.

The fresh controversies keep the political atmosphere charged up in Bihar, where assembly elections are due later this year.
