Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aditya Thackeray coined a new name for the saffron alliance government in Maharashtra. While addressing a media interaction, Aditya called it the “April Fool government.” He claimed that he came up with it as the government has forgotten the promises it made to people and fooled the voters.

Aditya Thackeray pointed out that the government said it cannot pay Rs 2,100 to women as promised. So women continue to receive Rs 1,500 only.

He also took on Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's claim that the government was not planning to announce any loan waiver for farmers even though former chief minister Eknath Shinde had announced in election campaign rallies that there would be a loan waiver for farmers. "This government which got elected courtesy to the election commission, continues to fool people of the state," said Thackeray. He further added that the government was hell-bent on stopping good schemes launched by the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.

He then raised the issue of user fee that BMC proposes to collect from people of Mumbai under the name of solid waste management. A family that resides in a 500sqft house has to pay Rs 100 per month as the user fee.

"When our party was ruling the BMC we had waived the property tax for upto 500sqft house and this government wants to collect user fee for the benefit of Adani as Adani Group has asked the government to clean the Deonar dumping ground site and then give it to the group," said Thackeray referring to BMC proposal to revise solid waste management by-laws and charge user fee and hefty fines upto Rs 10,000.

Bylaws will be revised nearly after two decades and user fee for garbage collection will be applied for the first time.

The young MLA appealed to the people of Mumbai to oppose this user fee clause and said that his party will oppose any such move firmly.
