MP crime: Man hacks elder brother to death for switching off music system while dancing

The host turned off the loudspeakers, which offended his younger brother

A man hacked his elder sibling to death for pulling the plug on loudspeakers during a family event in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district on Friday, the police said. The victim died on the spot after being attacked using an axe.

The incident was reported at Mauhar village under Kothi police station limits. Rajkumar Kol (30) was in attendence at a family function organised by his elder brother and Rakesh Kol (35) on Friday night when the unfortunate incident happened.

A sound system was used to play music during the programme and a thrilled Rajkumar was dancing when Rakesh decided to mellow things down a bit. The host turned off the loudspeakers, which offended his younger brother, Kothi police station in-charge Rupendra Rajput told news agency PTI.

It led to a heated argument between Rajkumar and Rakesh and the former attacked his brother with an axe. Rakesh died on the spot while the accused reportedly fled the spot. However, he was later found hiding near a culvert, the police said on Sunday.

The accused was placed under arrest, and the weapon used in the crime was seized.
