Kerala actress assault case: Ex-DGP claims Dileep innocent, evidence fabricated

R.Sreelekha claims photograph of Dileep with accused 'Pulsar' Suni photoshopped

R.Sreelekha

Former DGP of Kerala, R.Sreelekha claimed that actor Dileep was innocent in the actress assault case and evidence against him was fabricated.

The former top officer made the comments in a video published on her YouTube channel 'Sasneham Sreelekha' where she shares her professional experiences. In a recent video commenting about the case, Sreelekha said that she doesn't believe that actor Dileep committed the crime or he is involved in it.

In the video, talking about the timeline of the case, Sreelekha said she has full faith in the investigation and in the police force but, there was nothing wrong in admitting if they have committed a mistake. The former DGP said that the dignity of the force would only increase if they admit, “under the pressure, we had to arrest him, but now there is no sufficient evidence.”

Sreelekha said that she had suspicions regarding Dileep's arrest and discussed them with senior investigating officers. She said a photograph of Dileep and Suni at a shooting spot was shown to her evidence. Sreelekha said that when she said that the photograph was photoshopped, a senior officer conceded it.

Sreelekha said that Suni has committed similar crimes earlier as well and a few other actresses have also told her about getting blackmailed by Suni while she was IG central zone, Kerala. She added that the actresses refused to file a complaint fearing that it may spoil their career. She also criticises the media for its reports on the case.
