The life of 200 COVID-19 patients in Rajarajeshwari Medical College in Bengaluru are at risk as the hospital would run out of oxygen by Monday 5pm, said Bengaluru Rural MP D.K. Suresh.

In his appeal to Chief Minister B.S Yediyurappa, Suresh urged the government to step in and provide oxygen to the hospital immediately. The MP also pointed out that many hospitals in the state capital too face shortage of oxygen and urged the chief minister to ensure uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen in hospitals across the state.

Similarly, a hospital in RT Nagar in north Bengaluru reported shortage of oxygen and asked the families of the patients to shift them to any other hospital that has oxygen supply.

Leader of opposition Siddaramaiah tweeted to alert the government saying, "SOS coming from Rajarajeshwari Hospital & Medax Hospital about oxygen being exhausted in next one hour. I urge @CMofKarnataka & @mla_sudhakar to immediately to look into issue & supply oxygen to save lives of many patients."
