CRPF receives e-mail threatening to kill Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath

The mail also threatens to carry out attacks on places of worship

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said that its Mumbai head office had received an e-mail threatening to kill Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The mail also threatened to carry out attacks on places of worship and other important installations in the country.

"We have forwarded the email to the concerned agencies of Maharashtra and the Centre. They are working on it and we will work as per their instructions," Kuldiep Singh, CRPF DGP, was quoted as saying by ANI.

The mail, which was reportedly sent a few days ago, claimed “they are 11 suicide bombers” who will eliminate both Shah and Adityanath.

Reports said the source of the letter is being probed and the security of the two BJP leaders has been beefed up.

The threatening letter emerged a day after Shah visited a CRPF camp in the Bastar region in Chhattisgarh where a Maoist attack on Saturday left 22 security men dead.

Shah's visit to the camp of CRPF's 168th battalion at Basaguda in Bijapur district was viewed as a major morale booster for troops engaged in the decades-old fight against rebels in their bastion.
