Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Coimbatore on February 25. The venue and time of the rally will be announced in a couple of days, said Tamil Nadu BJP president L. Murugan.

The BJP Tamil Nadu unit on Monday held a meeting of the party executive and senior leaders from 12 districts in the Western Region of the State.

The saffron party has announced its alliance with the ruling AIADMK for the upcoming Assembly polls due in April-May. Murugan said the seat sharing will be finalised very soon and the BJP members will represent the assembly in double digits.

During his visit to Chennai on Sunday, Modi was seen interlocking and lifting his hands with Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswmi and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on the stage. The unmistakable political subtext of the event that saw the launch of completed infra projects and laying the foundation for new initiatives was not lost on anyone.

While the AIADMK and the BJP have already announced that they would fight the assembly elections together, the Sasikala's camp, steered by T.T.V. Dhinakaran, has been staking claim to the party and harping on its retrieval.
