At just 22, Eileen Gu is a global phenomenon who has mastered the balance between sports, school, and business. She made history as the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Olympics, but her success doesn't stop at the slopes.

She is a multimillionaire who earns over $20 million a year, largely through modelling for top luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. Even with her massive wealth and fame, she remains a full-time student at Stanford University. By excelling in three completely different worlds—pro sports, high fashion, and Ivy League academics—Eileen has become a powerful role model for a new generation.

Now, how does she do it?

Gen Z Olympic champion Gu, while talking to reporters, said, "You can control what you think. You can control how you think. And therefore, you can control who you are,” she added. “And especially as a young person, I’m 22, so with neuroplasticity on my side, I can literally become exactly who I want to be," she said.

What is neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is the brain's lifelong ability to reorganise its structure, functions, and neural connections in response to learning, experience, or injury. Simply put, it is the brain's ability to change and adapt due to experience.

Cleveland Clinic Psychologist Grace Tworek says that it is a natural gift that allows you to develop as a person and take on the ever-changing tasks of daily life.

From memorising an alphabet as a kid to remembering someone's name at work comes under neuroplasticity as it involves brainwork.

According to Dr Tworek, neuroplasticity allows one to adapt to new environments and new situations. "Neuroplasticity actually brings physical changes inside your cranium. In essence, your brain undergoes a sort of rewiring while learning from your experiences," she said.

What are the ways to improve neuroplasticity?

To make your brain stronger, you must challenge it regularly with new activities and experiences. This can be done in your day-to-day life as well.

*Taking a new route to work or the regular store.

* Listening to a new song instead of hearing the same old playlist

*Finding a new recipe for dinner or breakfast

*Adding something new to your workout routine

*If you're a right-handed person, use your other hand for tasks or try brushing your teeth using your left hand

*Ensure getting enough quality sleep
