'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' Day 4 box office report: Pawan Kalyan movie doesn't see improvement, trails behind 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu'

It's been a little over a decade since Pawan Kalyan had a well-rounded blockbuster. Helmed by Harish Shankar, "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" hit theatres on March 19, 2026

Pawan Kalyan's "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" has once again seen a drop in overall collections on Day 4, as opposed to Day 3. The film has only managed to pull in a total gross of around Rs 82 crore, a dismal number compared to the numbers generated by Kalyan's "They Call Him OG" (between Rs 200-226 crore) and "Hari Hara Veera Mallu" (Rs 103.22 crore) in the same span.

It goes without saying that the major chunk of its collection came from the Telugu-speaking regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, contributing roughly Rs 62.42 crore in the first three days.

Although the number is in the same ballpark as what "Mirai" grossed in the same time, we must keep in mind the vast differences between the two movies.

"Mirai" was an original idea without a superstar headlining, which is obviously not the case with "Ustaad Bhagat Singh". Another recent example of a big Telugu production that did relatively much better business was "Kuberaa", which did close to 88 crore in 4 days.

It's been a little over a decade since Pawan Kalyan had a well-rounded blockbuster. Helmed by Harish Shankar, "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" hit theatres on March 19, 2026.

Yet, despite a strong opening, the film’s box office numbers dipped noticeably on Day 2 and Day 3. It struggled to keep up the initial momentum, likely due to mixed critical feedback and the simultaneous success of "Dhurandhar 2," which continues to dominate many screens.

"Ustaad Bhagat Singh" was reportedly produced on a budget of Rs 150 crore. At this rate, it's doubtful whether this movie will reach the “break-even” point. To be considered a safe financial bet, the film must surpass Rs 150 crore in total collections.
