'Gandhi Talks' OTT release: When is Vijay Sethupathi-starrer coming to streaming?

Featuring music by AR Rahman, the film is directed by Marathi filmmaker Kishor Belekar, and co-stars Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddarth Jadav

Zee5 has announced that the Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swamy-starrer "Gandhi Talks" is set for its OTT release on March 6.

Directed by Marathi filmmaker Kishor Belekar, the film, co-starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddarth Jadav, is a black comedy — a completely silent effort, with the narrative guided solely through the music of AR Rahman. It was released in theatres in January 2026.

In an earlier statement, Belekar said, "Gandhi Talks is a film about trusting silence. As Indian cinema marks over a century of storytelling, we wanted to return to the medium's most elemental form, pure performance and emotion. The actors embraced that vulnerability completely, and AR Rahman's score became the film's voice."

Backed by Zee Studios, "Gandhi Talks" examines the conflict between Mahatma Gandhi's ideas and the overwhelming, harsh truths of contemporary society. The narrative revolves around a young man in dire straits and his crisscrossing path with that of a thief.

In its review of the film, THE WEEK wrote: "Gandhi Talks leaves the viewer suspended in moral ambiguity, carrying the weight of interpretation beyond the theatre. This is not a film for everyone. Viewers expecting conventional storytelling may find it alienating. But for those willing to surrender to its rhythm, Gandhi Talks offers something increasingly rare in mainstream Indian cinema: a space to think and to listen to what isn’t being said. In choosing silence, Gandhi Talks makes its loudest statement."
