Apple TV announces ‘Star City’, set in the same universe as ‘For All Mankind’

The show will make its premiere after the fifth season of "For All Mankind" airs its finale. It hails from creators Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore

Apple TV has revealed a first look at their new show "Star City", which is set in the same universe as another show from their catalogue, "For All Mankind".

The show, which hails from creators Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, is set to have its worldwide premiere with its first two episodes on May 29, followed by a weekly episode every Friday until its finale on July 10.

Notably, the premiere date coincides with the finale airing date of the fifth season of "For All Mankind" (premiere date mentioned at the end of this article).

"Star City" marks an exciting new chapter for Apple, combining elements of a thrilling paranoid drama and the rich history of the space race.

Set against the pivotal moment when the Soviet Union became the first nation to land a man on the moon, the show then shifts perspective to peek into life behind the Iron Curtain — the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers who were part of the Soviet space program, highlighting the risks they took to advance human progress.

The ensemble cast includes Rhys Ifans ("House of the Dragon"), Anna Maxwell Martin ("Motherland"), Agnes O’Casey ("Black Doves"), Alice Englert ('Bad Behaviour"), Solly McLeod ("House of the Dragon"), Adam Nagaitis ("Chernobyl"), Ruby Ashbourne Serkis ("I, Jack Wright"), Josef Davies ("Andor"), and Priya Kansara ("Bridgerton").

"Star City" is executive produced by Wolpert and Nedivi, who are involved as showrunners in association with Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions. Other exec producers include Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster. It is backed by Sony Pictures Television.

When does Season 5 of "For All Mankind" begin streaming?

Apple TV also unveiled the trailer for the fifth season of “For All Mankind”. The 10-episode fifth season will land on March 27 with one episode, followed by weekly episodes culminating in the finale on May 29.
