As the highly successful Dhurandhar ends its time in theatres after nearly two months, fans have been waiting for a glimpse of the sequel, titled Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.
Director Aditya Dhar said in an Instagram Story on Friday that the teaser "will be out in a few days". He did not mention a specific date.
Dhar had been responding to a fan's Story tagging him and asking him to quickly release the teaser.
"Mazak nahi, teaser jaldi (Stop playing around, give us the teaser fast)," the fan wrote.
While the update has made fans doubly excited for the sequel to the blockbuster starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, it also shows that the teaser would not be releasing with Border 2, which already released on Friday.
Earlier reports had predicted that the two would release together, though they had not specified whether the Dhurandhar 2 teaser would be shown in theatres before Border 2 screenings, or if it would release on YouTube on January 23.
Reports now say that the teaser for Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be released on or around Republic Day (January 26).
The film's release date remains March 19, 2026 as of now, and will pick up from the cliffhanger ending of the first part.
With even the teaser getting an 'A' rating (18+) from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the sequel to Dhurandhar is expected to be larger in scale and more violent.
Dhurandhar also saw ensemble performances from Arjun Rampal, Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and more, many of whom will return in the sequel.
It also enjoyed a global box office collection bordering on Rs 1,300 crore and an India net collection of Rs 830.5 crore—as of day 49 of its release, according to a Sacnilk report.
