A most exciting property is about to land on streaming this Christmas. Korean filmmaker Woo Min-ho's ("Inside Men", "Drug King") Made in Korea, his first venture into the multi-episode storytelling format. The thriller specialist, known for his penchant for espionage, crime, and historical narratives, is back with a series that promises an enticing blend of crime, espionage, and explosive action.
The series is headlined by South Korean stars Hyun Bin ("Crash Landing On You") and Jung Woo-sung ("12.12: The Day"). The show is a reunion for Min-ho and Hyun Bin since the two collaborated on the director's last feature, the political period thriller, Harbin.
What is 'Made in Korea' about?
Promising an epic scale — as evident in the trailer, a notable characteristic of all the filmmaker's previous work — Made in Korea sees Min-ho returning to familiar territory, the 1970s — that same turbulent and significant period in Korean history that he visted in his 2020 thriller, The Man Standing Next, starring Lee Byung-hun. This time, for a different set of characters, engaged in their own shady activities.
Hyun-bin plays Ki-tae, an intelligence officer moonlighting as a smuggler, with only the former side known to the public. Jung Woo-sung plays prosecutor Geon-young, who is making things very difficult for him.
When do the episodes come out?
Made in Korea will begin streaming on JioHotstar, Hulu, and Disney+ on December 24, 2025. The makers have opted to release the episodes in a unique manner. The first two episodes will stream on Dec. 24, the next two episodes on Dec. 31, followed by one episode on Jan. 7, 2026, and the finale on Jan. 14, 2026.
And the best part? A second season has already been greenlit before its premiere!
