After days of waiting, Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra has finally entered Rs 300 crore club in worldwide collection, a first for a Malayalam movie as well as a female-led movie.
Released on August 28, the Dominic Arun directorial was produced at a budget of Rs 30 crore by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films. The Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer achieved this unprecedented feat in just 40 days.
In India net collection, the movie earned Rs 154.22 crore while the gross domestic collection was pegged at Rs 180.6 crore. The overseas collection was recorded at Rs 119.3 crore. It is also the first movie to gross Rs 100 crore in Kerala and overseas and collect more than Rs 50 crore from rest of India.
Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra also became the top grosser at Kerala box office, collecting Rs 119 crore on Day 39, beating the Rs 118 crore record set by Mohanlal's 2025 movie Thudarum. The top Kerala grosser title was previously held by movies like 2018 Movie (2023), Pulimurugan (2016), Drishyam (2013), Twenty20 (2008), Classmates (2006), Rajamanikyam (2005), Narasimham (2000) and Aaram Thampuran (1997).
The female superhero film is also the first to cross 50,000 shows at Kerala box office and cross 1.18 crore footfalls in the 21st century. It also sold 4.51 lakh tickets on BookMyShow, the highest for a Malayalam movie.
Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra also beat Manjummel Boys to become the top Malayalam gorsser in India box office on September 29. It is also second highest in the rest of India box office (outside Kerala), collecting Rs 60 crore. Manjummel Boys tops the ROI collection with 95.65 crore because of great reception in Tamil Nadu.
