After the success of Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday has reportedly signed his next. Ali Abbas Zafar is the director. Munjya star Sharvari Wagh is the female lead Action romance is the genre. Yash Raj Films is bankrolling, marking the fifth reunion of Zafar and Aditya Chopra after Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Gunday, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai.
The aim is to cash in on two actors — newcomers, at that — whose last films were blockbusters. “With Saiyaara creating history at the box office, Ahaan Panday is today the biggest Gen Z male actor of our country. Sharvari was also a part of a Rs. 100 crores blockbuster Munjya. You have two fantastic actors who have proved that sheer acting talent can pull people to theatres.”
The project is said to be something that's "rooted in its emotions" and the source added that Ali Abbaz Zafar believes Ahaan Panday and Sharvari are apt for his project.
Bollywood insiders, reveals the source, feel that Saiyaara has proved that Gen Z audiences will go to the theatres provided the subject has a magnetic pull. “In fact, they came out in hordes to support Saiyaara – a film that spoke to them in their language and emotions. There has been a shift in thinking in Bollywood post the Saiyaara phenomenon. Every top director is excited to make films with young actors and take the punt because the reward can be huge.”
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, opened on July 18 to big numbers and frenzied reactions in theatres and on social media. The Yash Raj Films-backed romantic drama, which struck a deep emotional chord with audiences, especially with younger viewers, released on Netflix on September 12, 2025 — almost two months after its theatrical release.
