'Final Destination: Bloodlines' OTT release: When and where to watch the horror blockbuster in India?

'Final Destination: Bloodlines' became the second-highest grossing Hollywood horror film in India, showcasing the franchise's enduring quality and strong box office performance

JioHotstar has announced that Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth instalment of the Final Destination franchise, will be available for streaming for Indian viewers from October 16.

The announcement comes five months after its Indian theatrical release on May 14th. It was a major box office in India and the U.S., grossing Rs 74.75 crore at the Indian box office and $314.6 million worldwide against a $50 million budget.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the horror thriller revolves around a college student (played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana), who inherits visions of a previous premonition averting a deadly structural collapse from her grandmother, and is warned that Death is coming for her family. The film, released fourteen years after the last installment in the series, is described as a “re-imagining” of the franchise.

Cast members include Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd.

The franchise has always had a popular cult following in India, but owing to limited screens and even lesser penetration of Hollywood content, it was unable to make its mark on the Indian box office, until now. Thanks to evolving theatrical landscapes and an increasing appetite for global horror content, the latest installment has managed to become a raging success.

Not only did it beat expectations, it has also become the second-highest grossing Hollywood horror film in India, right behind The Conjuring 2 (Rs 83.25 Cr), which was released back in 2016. It also got the best reviews out of all the other franchise entries aside from being the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.
