How social media reacted to 'Marco' star Unni Mukundan playing lead in Narendra Modi biopic 'Maa Vande'

South Indian actor Unni Mukundan has revealed he will play Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic titled 'Maa Vande'

On Wednesday, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his birthday, popular south Indian actor Unni Mukundan announced that he will play the role of Modi in an an upcoming biopic of the PM, titled Maa Vande.

I'm humbled to share that I will be portraying the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi ji, in the upcoming film Maa Vande, directed by @kranthikumarch and produced by @maavandemovie, the actor said in his socail media post.

An actor, stepping into this role is overwhelming yet deeply inspiring, Mukundan said.

His political journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, but in this film, we aim to explore the man beyond the statesman, especially his profound bond with his mother, who shaped his character and spirit, the actor said in an Instagram post.

Maa Vande will be made in every major Indian language and will be released worldwide.

Many of his followers wished the actor very best, with some of the saying it is a "fantastic" birthday gift to the prime minister.

Well said Unni ji. Happy birthday to Modiji! May he continue to provide leadership and take Ma Bharati to greater heights, wrote one of the actor's follower's on X.

This looks promising, wrote another.

"Very Brave of you. With hostile state government I hope you get a proper support for shoot and release," wrote another.

However, not all his followers were so enthusiastic with some of the expressing disappointment saying they never expected such a movie to come from the Malayalam industry.

"What a shame! From Marco to this POS," wrote a follower. 

Bhai wo crocodile wala scene VFX se karoge yaa real me kroge?, wrote a user.

Some of the users even went on to claim that they have decided to unfollow the actor.
