While the box office is being dominated by Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Mohanlal's latest film Hridayapoorvam is managing to carve a space for itself as well. While the numbers aren't earth-shattering like the superstar's previous two films Empuraan and Thudarum, Hridayapoorvam is rock steady at the box office. The feel-good entertainer, directed by veteran Sathyan Anthikadu, opened to Rs.3.26 crores on its opening day and since then, has managed a strong hold at the Kerala Box Office.
The four-day weekend reported a cumulative gross of Rs.11.30 crores and the Monday test was also cleared with distinction as Hridayapoorvam clocked Rs.2.04 crores, indicating at a strong week ahead with the Onam holidays still to come. The five-day Kerala gross of the film stands at Rs.13.34 crores and the box office numbers outside the state as well as overseas have also been very encouraging. The sixth day has begun on a positive note for Hridayapoorvam and trends suggest a slight jump at the Kerala Box Office with the Onam holidays set to start in schools and colleges in the state.
The worldwide collections of the film after four days stood at Rs.34 crores approximately, with the 50-crore club set to be achieved in a few days from now. That will make it a hat-trick of Rs.50 crore grossers for Mohanlal, making him the first Mollywood superstar to achieve this feat. His previous films, Empuraan and Thudarum, were both Rs.200 crore grossers at the worldwide box office.
