We had reported that the third Jolly LLB film will see the return of both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. After the first look, the makers have now released the teaser which sees a clash between the 'Jolly from Meerut' and 'Jolly from Kanpur'. The teaser comes with the caption, "It's not going to be a clash, but 'kalesh'".
The glimpse hints at the chaos the two characters are going to unleash in front of Sourabh Shukla's judge. One scene has the duo bickering over paying respect to the older man. "Who is he, your uncle?" asks Akshay's Jolly. "These two Jollys are going to ruin my life," says the judge.
The first look featuring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi was released on Monday. The much-awaited return of the latter, as the character from the original 2013 film, was teased by the team earlier. The glimpse, revealed as a motion poster with the caption “Case number 1722 ki yachika hui manzoor!” confirms the presence of Warsi.
Akshay Kumar, who took over the franchise in the 2017 sequel, but in a different character with the "Jolly" nickname, is expected to face off against Warsi's character in what is expected to be a riotous courtroom entertainer with all the masala and the requisite ingredients that tickle the funny bones.
The first film, led by Warsi and Boman Irani, grossed nearly Rs 50 cr on a budget of Rs 10 cr. It also fetched two trophies at the 61st National Film Awards: Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Supporting Actor for Saurabh Shukla.
The sequel surpassed expectations and garnered an impressive Rs 100 cr at the Indian box office, despite the numerous controversies the film encountered from the legal community that objected to how the makers portrayed certain elements.
Subash Kapoor, who directed the first two, is back in the directing chair. Also returning alongside Warsi are Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla, and Annu Kapoor, reprising their original roles.
Backed by Fox Star Studios, Jolly LLB 3 is slated for a theatrical release on September 19, 2025.
