The acclaimed AMC show Interview with the Vampire is confirmed to get a third season. Interestingly, the upcoming season will be released under the title 'The Vampire Lestat' as the show will now have Lestat de Lioncourt, played by Sam Reid, as its primary focus.
Showrunner Rolin Jones and the remaining cast members are confirmed to return, despite the title change, to reflect the title of Anne Rice's second book of the same name. The announcement was made at the latest edition of the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).
Unlike the first two seasons, which narrated Lestat's story from the perspective of Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by Jacob Anderson, as told to Eric Bogosian's character, the journalist Daniel Molloy, the third season will be narrated solely from Lestat's point of view.
The other returning cast members include Delainey Hayles (Cluadia) and Assad Zaman (Armand), aside from new additions Jennifer Ehle (Lioness, Zero Dark Thirty) as Gabriella, Ella Ballentine as Baby Jenks, Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as Chrstine Claire, Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) as Marius and Damien Atkins as Magnus.
Interview with the Vampire is the second entry in AMC's Anne Rice's 'Immortal Universe' after The Mayfair Witches.
Interestingly, a third Anne Rice adaptation, The Talamasca: The Secret Order, was announced at the SDCC event, along with its trailer. The new show, which stars Nicholas Denton, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Elizabeth McGovern and Celine Buckens, with Eric Bogosian in a guest role, will revolve around a secret society which tracks supernatural beings like witches, vampires, and werewolves. Talamasca will premiere in October.
Interview with the Vampire is streaming for Indian viewers on Prime Video.
