Indian television actor, Mukul Dev, who is known for his best known for his role in Son of Sardaar, passed away on May 23, marking a significant loss to the Indian film industry. The cause of his death remains undisclosed. He was 54.

Actress Deepshika Nagpal, who worked with Dev in Teri Bhabhi Hai Pagle, confirmed the news on her Instagram story, expressing her deepest condolences. She later dedicated a post to the actor, writing, "I can't believe you are gone, Muks. What do I say??? With a heavy heart, I can say may his soul rest in peace. What a beautiful soul, amazing actor, and wonderful friend. You will be missed. I will miss your voice notes."

Actor Vindu Dara Singh tweeted also expressed his grief via social media. On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong, where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!"

Dev, born in Delhi on September 17, 1970, is known for working in several film industries. His influence has extended across Hindi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films. He has also starred in several television serials and music albums. Some of his notable works include Kohram (1999), Qila (1998), and Mere Do Anmol Ratan (1998). This actor was last seen in the movie Anth The End (2022).

Dev is survived by his brother, actor-model Rahul Dev. He was married to Shilpa Dev but the two parted ways in 2009. The pair have a daughter, Siya Dev.
