Ajay Devgn's latest film, 'Raid 2', has made a significant impact at the box office, reaffirming his status as a bankable star. The sequel to the 2018 hit 'Raid' continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, foraying deeper into his battle against corruption.

This time, he undertakes his 75th raid, targeting the antagonist Dada Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. The film also features Vaani Kapoor and is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.

As per reports from industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie collected ₹19.25 crores on the opening day and ₹12 crores on the second day. As of now, 'Raid 2' has earned around ₹1.82 crores from India (all language releases) on its third day, driving the final net collection to ₹33.07 crores.

'Raid' had been a commercial success, with a lifetime Indian gross collection of ₹132.14 crores and a worldwide gross of ₹154.19 crores.

'Raid 2' faced competition from other releases but managed to hold its ground, thanks to strong word-of-mouth and Devgn's compelling performance. Its success amidst fierce competition underscores the film's appeal and the audience's continued interest in the franchise.

Other films that clashed with the release of 'Raid 2' included Sanjay Dutt’s 'Bhootni', Nani’s 'HIT: The third Case', Suriya-starrer 'Retro', and Marvel Studios' latest installment, 'The Thunderbolts'. The movie also faces competition from the already released Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Kesari 2'.

The film’s modest success comes amid a challenging phase for Bollywood, where audience preferences are shifting toward South Indian cinema and OTT platforms. 'Raid 2' stands out for Bollywood by staying rooted in real-world storytelling and social relevance—the very traits that helped the original become a sleeper hit.
