The second season of International Emmy-winning Delhi Crime arrives this week along with new seasons of Maharani and Criminal Justice. Maharani Season 2: SonyLIV

Release date: Aug 25

The Huma Qureshi-starrer show that was well received by audience and critics returns for a new season. In the series, Huma essays the role of Rani Bharti, a villager who is handpicked to become the chief minister of Bihar. Season 2, directed by Ravindra Gautam, will see Rani Bharti determined to bring fair administration to the citizens of her state. The series also features starring Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Inaamulhaq, Kani Kasturi, Anuja Sathe, Pramod Pathak, and Neha Chouhan.

Delhi Crime Season 2: Netflix

Shefali Shah returns as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi to investigate yet another crime in the national capital. Filmmaker Richie Mehta, who directed the critically acclaimed first season, is attached as the creator of season two, which is directed and showrun by Tanuj Chopra. The first season, which premiered in 2019, followed the Nirbhaya gangrape of 2012 that shook the nation. In the upcoming season, Delhi Police probe a spate of serial killings, leading to fears about the resurgence of the notorious 'kachcha-baniyan gang', which was at its peak in the 1990s.

Criminal Justice Season 3: Disney plus Hotstar

Pankaj Tripathi reprises the role of the witty lawyer Madhav Mishra is the third season of the crime-legal thriller. In the new season, Mishra questions the judiciary system and its limits. According to reports, season 3 focuses on juvenile justice. The series also features Shweta Basu Prasad, Swastika Mukherjee and Purab Kohli.

Samaritan: Amazon Prime Video

Release date: August 26

The superhero action flick directed by Julius Avery features Sylvester Stallone in the title role. The film follows a superhero who is believed to have died 25 years ago during a battle with his nemesis. However, he is forced to return to the limelight and save his city after his 13-year-old neighbour discovers him.
